Iced oatmeal cookies—I grew up on the store-bought kind. The hard kind, the bumpy kind, the kind that was best with a glass of milk for dipping. This one’s a bit different. It’s got a bit more spice and a little less oatmeal, and it’s much softer. Looking at these photos makes me want to polish one off the way I would as a kid—that is, with a cold glass of milk and a Baby-Sitters Club book (or a Nancy Drew or something by Laura Ingalls Wilder, your choice).
